SPAN-AMERICA DECLARES DIVIDEND

GREENVILLE, S.C. – (February 14, 2005) – Span-America Medical Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: SPAN) announced today that the Board of Directors declared a quarterly dividend of $0.04 per share, or $0.16 per share annually, payable March 4, 2005, to shareholders of record on February 23, 2005.

"Our Board remains focused on building long-term shareholder value and the cash dividend recognizes our continued sales and earnings growth over the past year," stated James D. Ferguson, president and chief executive officer of Span-America. "This dividend represents an increase of 14.3% over the dividend paid in the same quarter of fiscal 2004."
