SPAN-AMERICA INCREASES REGULAR QUARTERLY DIVIDEND

GREENVILLE, S.C. (February 9, 2007) – Span-America Medical Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: SPAN) announced today that the Board of Directors declared a regular quarterly dividend of $0.08 per share, a 33% increase over the previous level. The dividend is payable March 5, 2007, to shareholders of record on February 19, 2007.

"This is the second increase in Span-America's quarterly dividend in less than a year and highlights our strong financial performance," stated James D. Ferguson, president and chief executive officer of Span-America. "This is our 69th consecutive quarterly dividend and represents a 78% increase over the dividend paid in the same quarter of fiscal 2006. Our Board of Directors is committed to building long-term shareholder value, and we believe our quarterly dividend is an important part of this strategy."
