SPAN-AMERICA DECLARES REGULAR QUARTERLY DIVIDEND
GREENVILLE, S.C. (November 1, 2007) – Span-America Medical Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:SPAN) announced today that the Board of Directors declared a regular quarterly dividend of $0.08 per share. The dividend is payable December 4, 2007, to shareholders of record on November 15, 2007.
"The dividend represents a 33% increase over the dividend paid in the same quarter last year. It highlights Span-America's strong financial performance in fiscal 2007 and our Board's confidence in the future of our Company," stated Jim Ferguson, president and chief executive officer of Span-America. "This is our 72nd consecutive quarter of paying cash dividends. In fiscal 2007, we returned $14.7 million to shareholders through our regular quarterly dividends and the special dividend of $5.00 per share paid in June 2007. We believe our dividend program is an important part of our strategy to build long-term shareholder value."
