ACQUISITION OF OSA TECHNOLOGIES ON INTERNET WEBCAST

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — March 29, 2004— Avocent Corporation (NASDAQ:AVCT) will announce the acquisition of OSA Technologies, Inc. on Monday, March 29, 2004.  The announcement will be discussed on a conference call at 10:00 a.m. Central time that will be available in an on-line, real-time Web-cast.
