FOURTH QUARTER CONFERENCE CALL ON THE INTERNET

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — January 18, 2005 — Avocent Corporation (NASDAQ:AVCT) will provide an on-line, real-time Web-cast and rebroadcast of its fourth quarter results conference call to be held on Thursday, January 20, 2005, at 9:00 a.m. Central.

 A simulcast of the conference call will be available on the Internet under the
