THIRD QUARTER CONFERENCE CALL ON THE INTERNET

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — October 13, 2004 — Avocent Corporation (NASDAQ:AVCT) will provide an on-line, real-time Web-cast and rebroadcast of its third quarter results conference call to be held on Thursday, October 21, 2004, at 10:00 a.m. Central.
