THE ACQUISITION OF CYCLADES ON INTERNET WEBCAST

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — January 26, 2006 — Avocent Corporation (NASDAQ:AVCT) will discuss its acquisition of Cyclades Corporation on a conference call on Thursday, January 26, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. Central time that will be available in an on-line, real-time Web-cast.
