FOURTH QUARTER CONFERENCE CALL ON THE INTERNET

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — January 12, 2006 — Avocent Corporation (NASDAQ: AVCT) will provide an on-line, real-time Web-cast and rebroadcast of its fourth quarter results conference call to be held on Thursday, January 19, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. Central.

A simulcast of the conference call will be available on the Internet under the investor relations’ tab on the Company’s Web site, www.avocent.com, as well as www.investorcalendar.com. The call will be available for replay on the Company’s Web site for approximately 30 days.
