ADVOCAT TO ANNOUNCE FOURTH QUARTER AND FISCAL 2006 FINANCIAL RESULTS ON THURSDAY, MARCH 1, 2007

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – (February 22, 2007) – Advocat Inc. (NASDAQ: AVCA) today announced that it is scheduled to report financial results
for its fourth quarter and fiscal year ended December 31, 2006, on Thursday, March 1, 2007 after the market closes.
Advocat will hold a conference call at 8:00 a.m. CT, 9:00 a.m. ET, on Friday, March 2,
2007. The call will consist of remarks from management as well as a question and answer session.
